I am a stage, screen and immersive director based as Artistic Director of Liminal Stage Productions (LSP) and Associate Learning Practitioner at the RSC.


I create formally ambitious stage and screen productions that explore the interplay between different media, genres & forms, and that interrogate alternative perspectives in order to tell urgent, powerful stories about what it means to be human.

  • RSC Digital are currently supporting development of my new play, FLEX, exploring disability as superpower through live motion-capture

  • are working with me to green-light a digital theatre project in early 2022

I trained at the RSC with Deputy Artistic Director Erica Whyman, at Donmar Trafalgar, and at the Print Room with Lucy Bailey. In 2016, I creatively produced & directed the transfer of my bold theatrical experiment, GREY MAN, at Theatre503. Previously, I creatively produced & directed my ACE-funded & “technically inventive” (The Stage) HOWARD BARKER DOUBLE BILL at Arcola (2015) and my ACE-funded centennial adaptation of WOYZECK launching Omnibus (2013). I was the youngest founding Board member of Stage Directors UK, have been a Trustee of the Directors Charitable Foundation, and am a Directing Tutor at Mountview.

I offer fundraising and producing consultancy services to individuals and organisations. I have 9 years' experience in fundraising within the arts sector and 8 years' experience of producing small-to-medium-scale productions Off West End and on regional tour. My fundraising portfolio includes several grants of under £15k and over £15k from Arts Council England, over £47k from philanthropic sources across 3 years, £53k from Trusts & Foundations, and in excess of £10k from corporate and other sources. I have worked as a successful fundraiser for Chichester Festival Theatre (£39k), Stage Directors UK and the Directors Charitable Foundation (£7k), Omnibus Theatre (£30k), and my own company, Liminal Stage Productions (£87k).


I am an experienced workshop facilitator and education/community practitioner, with a vivid belief in the power of participation, active learning and practice as research. I am a long-term Education Associate Practitioner with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Workshop Facilitator/Stage Director with the Shakespeare Schools Festival. As Community & Education Officer at Chichester Festival Theatre, I designed and led workshops for a range of participants including: older adults in their 3rd and 4th ages, vulnerable adults (18-60+), HE students, FE students, secondary and primary pupils, young people who are NEET, international students, migrant workers, refugees and asylum seekers. I have also worked as a Widening Participation Officer and Resident Tutor at the University of Warwick.


Having been the youngest founding Board member of pioneering membership organisation, Stage Directors UK between 2014 and 2017, I now maintain a close relationship with this organisation through my work as an elected member of the Equity Directors & Designers Committee. I am also a former Trustee of the Directors Charitable Foundation, the only UK charity dedicated to the welfare of directors in all media, through which I am especially passionate about widening access to, and the diversity of, the directing profession, and about promoting the exchange of skills, knowledge and contacts between stage and screen directors. I am interested in contributing to the governance and leadership of arts and culture organisations, and in contributing to interdisciplinary projects and centres.
